Wow! What an amazing piece of work. The only preconceived notion that I had before cracking the cover was that this would probably be a very entertaining and hysterically funny read and hopefully I would be able to pick up a few sex tips. The book truly was entertaining and funny. I could identify with ALL the chapters and got so tickled recognizing some of my own historical experiences between the pages. However, I had no idea that it would change my life - but not for the reasons that the title might imply. There were plenty of sex tips...but the life altering experience came upon completing the book.
The chapter titled WHEN GUYS SCHIZ OUT was fantastic! If only I had gotten this book several months ago I would have saved myself from frustration and agony.

Because of your book I have a better definition and understanding of who Mr. Right is and more importantly a solid grasp of who all the Mr. Wrongs are. Many Thanks and Kudos to you Mr. Anderson!!!

Is it supposed to be funny? That is something I've asked myself again and again as I read this book. Not being male and not being homosexual, I still felt a bit uncomfortable as I read page after page of stereotypes. The book represents the "gay male culture of big cities" as primarily a hunting ground for sex -- which it may be at some level but still not all gays are out looking to get laid every night. There is some discussion about safety, both emotional and physical, and some suggestions for how to find and date someone, then how to please them. This focus on "your partner" was probably the best part of the book because it breaks that stereotype that gay men are self-absorbed (except for those "types" of guys who are really focused on themselves). The basis of the book is that if you are a gay man, you are looking for sex. The book was very witty, sometimes on purpose but sometimes I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be funny. If you are a gay man (or know gay men) in a big city this may be more understandable to you; frankly in the small city I'm in, most of the gay and bi men I talked to didn't recognize some of the terms or find it all that funny. If you don't buy it to be a serious guide, I think you'll enjoy it a lot more.

This was a funny book, blending truth and humor. Although there was too many pages devoted to "types" of gay men, most of the book is right-on and written with a sly sense of humor. I don't know if any of these tips would actually work in the real gay world, but it was a fun read.

Ok so there are two areas in which I have to take Mr. Anderson to task over. One is the ref. to the south sticking Tobacco into babies formulas...that's just wrong, the other is with regards to the ref of one car that a prospective dated would own having a "My Other Car is a Broom" and then intimating that it probably belongs to a woman...excuse me Dan, I'm quite male, and quite a Celtic Pagan. Get over it.
Other than that, it's a wonderful book, filled with humourous bit and bites. Yes it pokes fun as us, makes us laugh at ourselves, even to those who do the twirl occassionally. But the book is worth the price and the read. Recommend it as it USDA Prime!
