An inescapable life cycle is familiar to us all: good fortune is followed by negative emotions. Once we are on top, we are then somehow plagued with a certainty that it is too good to be true and that eventually the wheels will turn and crush us back to the bottom.
This is a way of thinking that //New York Times// bestselling author Gay Hendricks calls the Upper Limit Problem, a negative emotional reaction that occurs when anything positive enters our lives. When the Upper Limit Problem happens, not only does it prevents happiness, but it actually stops us from achieving our goals. It is the ultimate life roadbock.
In //The Big Leap//, author Gay Hendricks reveals a simple yet comprehensive program for overcoming this barrier to happiness and fulfillment, and it is presented in a way that engages both the mind and heart.
Working closely with more than a thousand extraordinary achievers in business and the arts–from rock stars to Fortune 500 executives–whose stories are featured in the book, Hendricks describes the four hidden fears that are at the root of the Upper Limit Problem.
//The Big Leap// claims to deliver a proven method for first identifying which of these four fears prevents us from reaching our personal upper limit, and then breaking through that limitation to achieve what the author refers to as our Zone of Genius.
In this book, Hendricks provides a clear path for achieving our true potential and in attaining not only financial success, but also claiming success in love and life.

I can’t say I am very impressed by the book. It is not bad either because it defines the problem and helps clarify it by giving examples in daily life. It creates awareness, this is good. But while reading it many times I said to myself how lucky I am in many ways that I had discovered these things by my ownself too, only I hadn’t given a name to it. The author calls it the upper limit problem. Additionally I have to say that many examples he has given are irrevelant to my life. So the book was a good way for me to understand why some of the people around me sometimes act very weird. Funny but true. I feel really good that I have already gone through it in many ways and really enjoy the happiness in my own life despite what I go through.

I just read this book and it is amazing! This is the first “self help” book I have read and I found Dr. Hendricks writing style to be easy to read and the text really flowed. I have always had that thought in the back of my mind that there was something missing. This book has shown me very clearly and practically what the one problem in my life really is and how to solve it.
